I'm Chris, a designer who codes.

I ♥︎ putting users first and making things people enjoy. I'm currently designing at Vurb, and was previously on the Mobiata team at Expedia.

  • Vurb: Discovery and Recommendations

I designed this new discovery experience for Vurb's mobile app, giving users a daily guide to trends around the web and places nearby.

  • Where the Streetcars Used to Go

I mapped San Francisco's many former streetcar routes, then designed and developed an interactive map and timeline around them. It was featured on Hoodline, SFist and more.

  • Expedia for iPhone and Android

I was an interaction & visual designer at Expedia for four years, where I designed many pieces of their mobile app like travel itineraries, flight booking, and the entry experience.

  • Expedia for iPad and Tablets

This revamp of Expedia's iPad and tablet app put a focus on planning vacations and longer trips. Users can browse hotels and flights in their destination at the same time.

  • Overlap

A concept I designed and prototyped with a colleague to let friends create and coordinate casual plans. Users can create a plan for a flexible time or place, and change venues or times as the plan approaches.

  • baconreader

I designed, developed and marketed this reddit client for Android. OneLouder Apps acquired the app from me in 2011, and I worked with their product manager and developers to turn the beta into a public product with millions of installs.
